Kenya - Turkana Tribe
:: released 01. 11. 2005 ::Turkana tribe inhabits Turkanaland in northwest Kenya - a vast tract of land encompassing mostly thorn scrub and semi desert, representing one of the harshest regions of Africa. Turkanas are a fiercely independent pastoralist tribe who have managed to overlive for centuries by herding their cattle across the expansive plains in search of whatever grazing that may be extracted from the unforgiving terrain.

Kenya - Northern part
:: released 31. 10. 2005 ::Northern Kenya is in many ways different from the rest of the country. First you will see the difference in the nature around you, then you realize the people changed as well. While most of green south Kenya is inhabited by farmers, rough north is populated by nomadic pastoralists. Few villages where you can buy you a tea in a hotel are connected by terrible roads. Making the remote territory even more isolated, even more interesting...
Kenya - Lake Logipi, The Pearl Of The Desert
:: released 14. 10. 2005 ::In the middle of Suguta valley, virtually in the middle of hell, where temperatures reach over 50 degrees centigrade during noon, lies the pearl of the desert - Lake Logipi. Only tse-tse flies and thousands of flamingos are indicating that there is something left alive at this place, yet once you reach Lake Logipi, you wont ever forget it.
Kenya - Nature Of The Suguta Valley
:: released 10. 10. 2005 ::Suguta lies in North West part of Kenya and its considered as one of the remotest and the hottest places. The more we crawled into its heart, the more hot it got, grass turned into dry golden prickles, lonely trees reminded of ghosts by their shape and soild was replaced with reddish stones. Is this a way to hell? one could be thinking. The worse was still to come.
Kenya - Samburu portraits
:: released 26. 09. 2005 ::The Samburu are an ethnic tribe in north central Kenya related to the Maasai. They share the same language with Maasai - about 95% of the words of both languages are the same. The name 'Samburu' is also of Maasai origin and is derived from the word 'Samburr' which is a leather bag used by the Samburu to carry a variety of things. Samburu practice polygynous marriage, and a man may have multiple wives. A Samburu settlement is known as a nkang or manyatta. It may consist of only one family, composed of a man and his wife/wives. Each woman has her own house, which she builds out of local materials, such as sticks, mud and cow dung.

Kenya - Lake Naivasha
:: released 24. 08. 2005 ::Rift Valley stretches from the Dead Sea in the Middle East, south through the Red Sea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and into Mozambique. Major geological upheavals caused a series of lakes in the Kenyan part of Rift, some of which areare soda lakes, but others are freshwater, like Lake Naivasha which I had a chance to visit during a short stay..
Kenya - Thomson's Falls
:: released 24. 08. 2005 ::Close to Nyahururu, one of Kenya's highest cities (2360 m above sea level), lies on the Ewaso Narok River beautiful Thomson's Falls. The 72 metre giants were named after Joseph Thomson who was the first European to walk from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the early 1880s. You can check out the falls from above, or there's a trail down to the bottom where you can enjoy the close view for a couple of minutes (before you get wet :-))
