Malaysia

Malaysia is an amazing country in Southeast Asia. Warm people, great climate and lots of things to enjoy, that's Malaysia in few words.
I've visited Malaysi three times so far and still feel like returning one day and exploring it more.

Must a see places in Malaysia? Here we go:

  • Taman Negara - the oldest jungle on the world, trekking
  • Cameron Highlands - tea plantations, Orang Asli tribe, trekking
  • Langkawi Islands - beautiful place to relax
  • Kuala Lumpur - twin towers, china town, all the incredible temples (indian, china, mosques,...)

Orang Asli

A visit of Orang Asli villages near Cameron Highlands was especially a great experience. Their name comes from malay expression "original people". Orang Asli, the indigenous people of Peninsular Malaysia are divided into three main groups (Senoi, Orang Malayu Asli, Negrito) and what's interesting about their language is that every smaller subgroup speaks different type of language.

The tribal people I met in Cameron Highlands, were the Senoi group. They use bamboo blowpipes for hunting and even though malaysian government was trying to convert them to "normal people", fortunately they kept most of their basic habits.

The Negrito people are unlikely Senoi semi-nomadic and travel from place to place, living in houses made of leaves and wood.
