Jaipur Foot - Jaipur slum dwellers, India

RefNum: 09in-8277. Kavita Sen is one of the lucky ones who got free artificial leg, popularly known as Jaipur foot. About 30,000 people lose their legs every year in India, either in accidents or of sickness. Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, based in Jaipur, has been providing artificial limbs for free since 1975. This is especially helpful to people like Kavita, who lives in a slum in Jaipur with very limited income.
